betahaus Sofia is the home of the largest, monthly cryptocurrency/blockchain event in Sofia - Sofia Crypto Meetup. The gathering was co-founded by Yanislav Malahov, Ivo Vasilev and Vladislav Dramaliev in the first month of 2016. It became one of the most popular events in the co-working space throughout 2017.
The shared goal of betahaus Sofia, the BitHope Foundation and æternity blockchain is to continue the blockchain community building efforts in 2018 and beyond. The general strategy of featuring experienced speakers, hot topics and original content will continue to be pursued and expanded.
In 2017, Sofia Crypto Meetup hosted 11 monthly events on topics such as blockchain scaling, regulation and legal aspects, cryptocurrency adoption, smart-contract design best practices, ICOs, tokens and mining. We witnessed the community expanding making the large betahaus Sofia event space seem insufficient in size. For the upcoming year we have more ambitions for progress.

Betahaus Sofia, with the support of the BitHope Foundation, is launching a crowdfunding campaign, aimed to:
- Improve the physical environment, in which the meetups and events are held in betahaus;
- Designate human resource to run organizational, logistics and communication matters;
- Invite and attract international lecturers to present and share their insight on various blockchain-related topics;
- Design a dedicated BlockchainSpace that could be used by crypto-businesses for work and as a shared space for exchange of ideas.
