About “I Do Care!”

My name is Boris, a 17-year-old student from Bulgaria. A year ago, I visited the Louis Braille School in Sofia with my mom, who supports the school. At first, I felt unsure, but then I met a wonderful group of kids my age, whose interests and conversations mirrored my own.

Leaving the school, I felt a mixture of emotions. I was embarrassed that what I had thought were big problems seemed like nothing compared to the challenges in their lives. At the same time, I was deeply troubled knowing that many of my new friends had incredible dreams, but little chance of realizing them due to their uncertain futures. That’s why I started "I Do Care!"

Who Needs Our Help?

“I Do Care!” is an online initiative dedicated to raising funds for children with special needs. Our first goal is to support the Louis Braille School in Sofia, which serves visually impaired children and children with severe physical conditions.

  • Visually impaired children are fully capable of achieving great things. Many of them dream of becoming journalists, scientists, musicians, or fashion designers. However, without access to proper education and support beyond school, their potential may remain unrealized.
  • Children with severe physical conditions deserve regular access to free physiotherapy. Sadly, many parents—often single mothers—are unable to work because their child's care is a full-time, 24/7 responsibility.

Why It Matters?

With the right education and support, visually impaired children can thrive and pursue careers like anyone else. Without this help, they risk being isolated, with few opportunities to continue their education or find work. At “I Do Care!,” we aim to provide them with the resources they need to grow, learn, and achieve their dreams when they leave school.

For children with severe physical conditions, I believe no one can remain indifferent to their plight or to the struggles of parents who devote their lives to helping them. These children, who may never run on grass, laugh carelessly with friends, or grow into strong, fulfilled adults, are also our responsibility.

Our Mission

Together with the school’s director, Mrs. Belokapova, we’ve identified three urgent needs:

  1. Furnishing special therapy rooms to enhance treatment options.
  2. Funding salaries for full-time therapists to support the children.
  3. Providing transportation to bring children from their homes to therapy.

Our mission is simple: to help make life easier for those who need it most. This initiative is not just about raising money—it’s about empowering these children to follow their dreams and succeed in life.
